Lies,Untruths and "Alternate Facts"

August 5. 2018
What I find most astonishing about the past two years is the amount of bullshit Republicans and Trump supporters are willing to spew. First, despite testimony by leaders of all our intelligence services, there was no Russian interference in the 2016 election. Next, there may have been a little interference, but it didn't favor any candidate. Then, there was interference that may have favored one candidate, but there was no collusion and they did it all on their own. They have since moved to more of a conspiratorial focus, trying to slander the investigators. There is even a book, #16 on the Amazon read list, called “The Russia Hoax: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump”. Republican intelligence and law enforcement officials have been called biased Democrats. This shit has become insane. I think we are going to have to accept the premise that nearly 40% of our population has chosen to live in an alternate reality and are no longer reachable. That is what makes it more important than ever that those of us who have not gone bat-shit crazy and still see Russian election tampering as the national security threat it really is, need to band together and fight like our democratic republic depends on it.

Traitor Jim Jordan

I have been thinking about the reasons Jim Jordan must go. There are the most recent allegations concerning his time as an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State University. Although yet unsubstantiated and more than a little fortuitous in timing, they seem totally believable and very much in character. If there is one quality that Jim Jordan demonstrates consistently, it is his indifference to the misfortunes that may befall others. There has never been a program for the poor or powerless that Jim does not deem useless.
Jim is a career politician who claims to despise those who live off the government. There are only two areas, of which I am aware, for which a law degree is useful. One is the practice of law and the other is politics. Jim received a law degree from Capital University yet chose never to take the bar exam. This indicates to me that even while he was busy watching dirty old men ogle the bodies of young wresters, he was plotting his first run for state office and a career of collecting paychecks funded by taxpayers and wealthy donors. More to come!

What Are They Thinking?

Putin's marionet
I am more perplexed by the deniers of Russian tampering than I am climate change deniers. The energy industry funded and launched a coordinated campaign of disinformation aimed at sowing doubt about the scientific data. The tampering deniers rely completely of one serial liar saying it never happened. Do we really have adults who are that gullible?
